It is chemically similar to both stimulants and hallucinogens, producing feelings of increased energy, excitement, emotional warmth, and distorted perception of senses and time.

It may be available as capsules or liquid beverages, with the most recent innovation being a liquid packaged in the form of a well-known drink bottle.
