Khairy and Shahril, Naimah's puppet?

I have this burning question for Umno's brightest rejects Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Hamdan: Is your podcast Keluar Sekejap part of Naimah Daim's alleged "comms plan" aka "plot to overthrow the democratically-elected Malaysian government"?

I hope not but some of us can't help but notice how much room KS has given to defend team Naimah against the MACC and even the PMX.

Did Naimah or her "foreign consultants" engage the two of you to do their bidding on the pretext of safeguarding the legacy (and fortunes) of the late Daim?

I know this is a contentious subject, or it might also be termed a 'legacy tactic' introduced by the 'political giant'. This discreet 'hidden agenda' approach is evidently making its way across digital media platforms and has truly transformed into an aspirational blueprint for young Malaysians like yours truly who are still inexperienced in the realm of politics.

Plot-Naimah.

It all started when Toh Puan Naimah, the widow of the late Tun Daim Zainuddin, appeared as a guest on the podcast on 14 November 2025. One can't help but notice how the feisty widow was accorded so much space not just to defend her late husband but also to attack Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim, the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The questions asked by KJ and Shahril felt "planted" to me. But I'm just a new kid on the journalism block so what do i know, right?

Here are some excerpts from the podcast:

KJ to Naimah: "Did Tun Daim leave the cabinet in a state where he felt happy or in a state where he felt like there was a little pressure to make way for a new gem in UMNO at that time (1991), none other than Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to become the new Finance Minister?"

The attacks on PMX got quite personal, too. Supposedly, Tun Daim had once told Naimah that it would be difficult to deal with Anwar because of Anwar's lazy attitude towards reading.

During the podcast, Naimah questioned the evidence that the MACC, our national anti-corruption body, had against Daim. There had been many plots against her husband in the past, she told KS.

All in all, the KS session with Naimah was about the "goodness" of Daim, which I don't really mind if it was made clear from the start that they were making a documentary on the man or it was a paid content.

The "interview" with Naimah lasted 2 hours 20 minutes and 59 seconds,  making it the longest episode in the history of the KS Podcast. To many. It was a PR exercise for the late  Daim and his widow. To some others, KJ and Shahril were helping Naimah undermine the MACC and Anwar Ibrahim's admnistration.

So, was KS part of the "Comms Plan"? If so, would KJ and Shahril mind telling us, in the name of transparency, how much they were paid?

1) KJ defends Naimah (KS: EP191).

2) Shahril Defends Bloomberg (KS: EP190).

Elephant in the room

Obviously, I must ask Shahril what everyone is dying to know: Did Naimah's foreign consultants approach him for his help/services? (If so, what was the arrangement?).

I feel it's fair to ask these questions. There are documents online to suggest that the foreign consultants had identified Shahril Hamdan as one of a dozen or so individuals they planned to engage for their client Naimah.

And Naimah, now probably one of the richest women in the world, has also started court proceedings to sue the Malaysian government and bar the Malaysian authorities from investigating Daim's estate. It is in the interest of the tax-paying Malaysian public to get answers to these burning questions.
