"Why do I have to work overtime?"
"Oh yes you should try to be a broadcast journalist, your face is for sale, like near the haji taib alley."
Is a word that hurts me and I am sure it hurts all journalists regardless of young, middle or veteran. A word that was thrown maybe not for me. or not for everyone. Personally as a former journalist it was thrown for all broadcast journalists around the world.
Not forgotten when I worked as a crime reporter:
"Crime reporter, 'prostitute's feet...(Kaki Lacur) '"
Because I often report on prostitution syndicates, Because it is very important during the covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The percentage of causing diseases as a result of prostitution. Still called 'prostitute'. But it has passed ... I'm sure there is a reason why they are afraid to call me back.
The things that I went through again, and I hate the words: "Oh yes you should try to be a broadcast journalist, your face is for sale, like near the haji taib corridor.". Am I a whore? for all of you who work as broadcast journalists. This is the sentence that was first thrown at me, and I am still patient.
And I also replied... to the (Woman), who threw the sentence:
me: "Aren't you coming back?"
Her: "Oh no I have to work overtime to settle the work."
me: "So, are you a whore?"
And so the 360-degree drama began... As usual, men are always wrong, and I'm okay with it, as long as the 'Bishop' journalist gets a lesson, that's enough. I was proud to be a crime reporter at that time, willing to sleep in the office, willing to take a small salary just because of 'MINAT', I became a journalist not to get a good income. It's about passion. Even though she was insulted as a prostitute.
Friends, and authoritative bosses... Is this your product? to create a sustainable media industry?
