"You'll never listen, it is who you are, and I will speak to you no more." is one of the verses from Ronnie Krishnan that was thrown at me.
Understanding a former journalist (crime and sports) in the Boomer era like Ronnie is obviously very difficult. But I was one of the Zoomers who bravely sat next to him while accompanying him at the National Press Club of Malaysia (NPC). I was the "Chief House and Ground" at the time. PS: 2023-2025 terms.
Ronnie's verse was actually a bit rough so that some senior journalists were reluctant to sit next to him.
But not me because:
“You’ll never listen because you learn by watching, there’s 360 degrees within you like a shark watching a small fish.” Ronnie added with a warm laugh.
One of the beautiful moments if you are patient with the fact, there will be sweet verses in his mind that will be issued.
Yet, there is a verse that continues to echo in my mind. "Whether you believe me or not, you won't be bringing any female friends into this club."
He's right. Ronnie's words ring true, as I am still single. (me type while laughing)
I felt like characters straight out of the movie 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back'. Ronnie is Yoda, and I am Luke Skywalker.
The learning begins when Ronnie says " That Is Why You Fail ". Then he will share ways to produce quality news reports. Something I won’t share here.
"Remember what I said, if you use this method too soon, you will be dropped right away. They will be surprised and try to drop you down because the media industry is now shrinking again."
The fact you are absolutely right Ronnie... And 'I didn't listen to your advice.'
"You have an advantage when it comes to making observations, but you don't decide which one to concentrate on." Steven Foo, NPC Manager, said.
Steven is very meticulous in taking care of things. Ranging from numbers one to a million, Steven has always adhered to the principle of “act early and things will go smoothly”.
"Haiya... Another Brick In The Wall, you know? by PinkFloyd. How long will you wait and wait and wait, but the program doesn't take place." among Steven's expressions.
I was a loyal listener, plus if something was postponed, his boombastic verses would come out.
"You're handsome, how can you not have a girlfriend?"
I replied that I was interested in someone … And here’s Steven’s answer…
"She's too old, find a young one la..."
Love is blind, I feel like I need to wait for the next generation.
Steven's guess is always right, he can reach something that applies and always has an answer in every problem.
Maybe some journalists think Steven is good at words. However, to my observation it is a ' Mathematical Formula '.
As if like a system of three linear equations and it is one unique solver. Three completions (which may be different or real or not) .
And I followed his method of calculation.
